A remarkable execution of a fast rising concept. Crowdfunding meets leading green campaigners
Greenpeace.
In efforts to build their next and newest, entirely environmentally sustainable ship, ‘
Rainbow Warrior‘, Greenpeace are ‘selling’ every item of the boat before it’s even built. A visit to their ‘e-shop’ lands you every single part of the boat imaginable, be in a spoon, at 1 Euro, or a desalinater, at 7000 Euros.

Buyers get a certificate for their ‘purchase’ and the ship goes on piecing together. Names and messages are streamed live on the website, tied directly to the part of the ship they’ve contributed to, with a shining red dot on a diagram of the boat. And ‘buyers’ names will be etched onto a digital artwork aboard the vessel herself upon completion.

French agency
DDB and web developers
Les 84 have created a stunning online experience that not only outline the ‘products’ for purchase but takes you on a complete diagrammatic tour of the ship. You can see which room your spoon will sit in, or where exactly that desalinator goes. All to the soothing soundtrack of a ship at work in her ocean.
A live webcam shows all progress and at 32% completed construction less than a month into the cause, here’s to seeing Rainbow Warrior launch at their projected date in October 2011.
